Birds of Prey

Barn Owl

Barn Owl

Of all the birds I photograph, Barn Owls are by far the most impressive to watch as they hunt for prey. These birds have suffered over the past years as a result of the degradation of once prey-rich habitats in the face of intensive agricultural farming. However, this decline has halted in many areas and the population may now be increasing. North Norfolk is a great place to see the birds in some numbers. The most I've seen in one day was 9, however I often come across 3 or 4 when I'm out on a Saturday.
