Stonechat

Stonechat

This male Stonechat (Saxicola Torquata) sat in a small gap through a bush. The movement on the bush has given a nice affect around the bird.
As its name suggests, birds utter a sharp loud call that sound like two stones being tapped together. They breed in Western and Southern parts of the UK and disperse more widely in winter. This male and his mate stayed at Salthouse for the winter.
