The Linnet (Carduelis Cannabina) is a small slim finch that is widely distributed within the UK. Males are attractively marked with crimson foreheads and breasts whilst the females (as shown here) are much browner.
Unfortunately, these small birds are now declining, in common with many other birds that use farmland and have been flagged as a Red List species.
