Turnstone - Arenaria Interpres

Turnstone - Arenaria Interpres

The Turnstone (Arenaria Interpres) gets its name from the way it searches the shoreline flicking over small stones looking for food. These can be seen around the coast of Britian & Ireland at all seasons. Salthouse on the Norfolk coast is a great place to photograph these birds as you can lay low in the salt grass and wait for them to approach.

Equipment: Canon Eos 1DsMk2, Canon 500mm F4L IS Lens.
